Jose Luis Gonzalez Jr., 62, of New York, passed away on June 8, 2023 after a brief battle with liver disease, surrounded by his wife Virginia and his daughters, Mae-Lynn and Kathrynn.
For those that knew him, you knew how was a fighter. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Jose managed his illness with strength and pride, and fought so hard in the hospital. He fought till the very end, so much that no one thought it was the end just yet. His wisdom, pride and strength helped so many people get through their own obstacles in life. His ways of life carried his family through the years. Taken far too soon, those who loved him most will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest; even though life will never be the same without him. Jose was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, coach, mentor and father figure. He will be truly missed. Always and forever, #GonzalezStrong.
Jose was predeceased by his mother Maria C. Acevedo and grandmother, Agueda Acevedo. He is survived by his wife Virginia Gonzalez; his sons, Jose L. Gonzalez, Erick Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez and Jonathan Gonzalez; his daughters, Mae-Lynn Gonzalez and Kathrynn Gonzalez; his grandchildren, Erick Gonzalez Jr., Kristina Gonzalez, Camille Zoe and Diego Jose Gonzalez-Camacho, Jose Luis Gonzalez and Messiah Gonzalez.
