Joseph (Scottie) Thomas, 69, of Smiths Station, Alabama went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Memorial services will be held at Faith Independent Baptist Church and officiated by Pastor James Grantham on February 1, 2025 at 2pm EST.
Joseph, also known by his loved ones as Scottie, was born in Phenix City, AL, the son of Roland and O’Dean Thomas. He was married to his beloved wife Devy. Scottie was a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church and was an active member. He loved driving the school bus and talking to all his friends. He was a great cook, and everyone loved his warm and loving personality. He was a big Alabama fan and always greeted everyone with a “Roll Tide”. He was known by his grandkids Noah and Mac as Papa Tide.
Joseph is preceded in death by his mother and father O’Dean and Roland as well as his brothers Gene Thomas and Stan Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife Devy, son Dusty Thomas, Sammy and his wife Lorie, grandkids Noah and Mac, several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and many friends.
The family asks that everyone please wear houndstooth or Alabama colors to the church service which will be followed by a celebration of life in honor of our beloved Scottie.
