Josephine M. Catuogno went to heaven to be with the Lord on February 7, 2024, at the age of 84 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on May 31, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY to her late parents Rosario (Salvatore) and Lucille Guarnero.
Josephine is survived by her beloved husband Andrew, her loving children Joseph, Ann Marie, Andrea and Christopher, as well as 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, loving sister and 2 brothers (one deceased) and loving nephew. She loved her children and family dearly and always put their needs above herself. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Andrew, for nearly 65 years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Josephine graduated from Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1957. She raised her children and then had a successful career as a customer service credit specialist at Sears from 1975 to 1995. Later, she worked as a collection's specialist for the Department of Revenue, State of Florida from 1995 to 2010.
Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, FL, was Josephine's place of worship. She was a devout Catholic, cherished her faith and found solace in her religious community. In her free time, Josephine enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and spending quality time with her family. She was known for welcoming all into her home and for her delicious home cooked meals and the love she poured into every dish.
A service to celebrate Josephine's life will be held at Incarnation Church on Tuesday, February 13 at 9:30am.
She will then be laid to rest on Wednesday, February 14 at 11:30am at Sarasota National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, organizations that were close to her heart.
Josephine M. Catuogno will be remembered for her strength, her passion and love for her family, and her unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and delicious home cooked meals shared with loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
