ROCKLAND - Joshua Raymond Theriault-Patten, 37, of Rockland, sadly passed away Monday February 10th, 2025, in a tragic automobile collision in Washington, Maine. He was the beloved father of Journey and Christopher Theriault.
Was born on June 19th, 1987, in Augusta, Maine and spent his early years in and around Central Maine. He moved frequently and had a difficult early life.
In his early 20s, Josh moved to the midcoast area and found stability with his godfather and mentor, Steve, who became an important part of his life. Josh's persistence and tenacious spirit set him on a path of recovery and success. He was most proud of the dad he was able to be for his daughter, Journey, who lived with him on the weekends.
Josh was active and always on the move, some of his favorite things to do with his daughter were swimming, catching frogs, fishing, visiting farms to pet the animals, exploring, and playing outside. He also loved bringing his daughter to the Wiscasset Raceway and spending time there with his son, Christopher. They were all regular attendees at the racetrack where they would watch and help-out Josh's closest friend, Scott Trask, who raced there. Scott was Josh's dearest and most beloved friend, who he introduced as his brother. He loved cars, was always working on them, and dreamed of having his own to race one day.
Josh was recently employed at Bath Iron Works as an Insulator but was a jack of all trades. He was a painter for several years, and also worked for himself, providing mobile detailing, as well as property maintenance, landscaping and handyman services. He loved to barter and trade and meet new people.
We hope you remember Josh as the person who overcame. He was so proud, as were his loved ones, of the progress he made despite life's challenges. He will be remembered for his heart, the love he gave, and the legacy he leaves behind for his children to carry forward. He was loved and cherished.
He is predeceased by his godfather, Stephen Foote.
Josh is survived by his two children, Journey L. Theriault, 9, and Christoper Theriault, 15, and many friends and family.
Josh was loved by many and had friends from all walks of life. His outgoing and ambitious nature ensured that he made friends everywhere he went. He touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his easy smile, talkative nature, his love of his children, and his deep desire and passion to make something of himself.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave,
