Joshua Wood, known to all as Josh, had a zest for life, a witty sense of humor, and an incredibly huge heart. He was a man of many exceptional talents and qualities that will be forever remembered. Always living for the moment, Josh loved to hunt, fish, golf, play cards, go bowling, go to concerts, read, watch movies, and play his guitar. To know Josh was to see without a doubt that he loved his wife Crysti of 9 years, his children Darrell, 20 years, and Madison, 18 years, his parents, sisters, nephews and nieces, and his friends.
Josh was born October 18th, 1979, in Greenville, Michigan, to Brenda and Frank W. Wood Jr. of Stanton. He was a peeler from the very start. Josh was an unafraid and curious little boy who enjoyed fishing off the riverbank, riding his bike, reading mystery novels, and spending many summers at Chippewa Lake. He grew to be an athletic, artistic, bright, kind young man who was sometimes lightheartedly mischievous. Josh attended and graduated from Central Montcalm High School in 1997 with honors and headed to Central Michigan, later transferring and graduating from Ferris State University with a B.S. in Construction Management.
After graduating from college, Josh worked as a planner and scheduler at AGA Marvel, Greenville, MI. While there, Josh met his future wife, Crysti Noe. The couple would later marry in a quaint ceremony attended by his parents. Josh, Crysti, their son Darrell and daughter Madison shared life as a family in Stanton, near Dickerson Lake, before moving to Montrose, MI, in 2011.
In 2010, Josh joined the team at Odyssey Tooling, which later would become Ascent Aerospace in Lake Orion. He started as a project manager, was promoted to program manager, and later, Machine Shop manager. During this time, Josh gained many new lifelong friendships and opportunities for growth. More recently, Josh started a small remodeling and construction business.
Josh had a gift for bringing laughs to any get-together. He loved to be outdoors on his property, building things, reading, gardening, visiting with friends, and vacationing with his family. Josh was a great storyteller, a novice author, writing lyrics and poems in his spare time when the inspiration struck. Always being a shoulder to lean on, he was a great confidant and trusted voice of reason when anyone needed advice. He was proud of his children and celebrated their accomplishments and milestones.
He will be missed dearly by his wife Crysti, son Darrell, daughter Madison, father Frank W. Wood Jr., mother Brenda, sister Heidi (Chad) Rodarmer, sister Sarah (Bill) Boyd, sister Jerica (Jason) Hall, sister Janie Wood. Also missing Josh are Nicholas Rodarmer, Alexia (Ryan) Feldman, Elizabeth Rodarmer, Dylan Sheppard, Harlee Hall, Andie Hall, Natalie Hall, Nick (Jessica) Boyd, and Jordin (Seth) Thomas. Josh will also be missed dearly by all his loving in- laws.
Josh had previously said goodbye to his grandfather Frank W. Wood Sr., his grandmother, Alice Wood of Greenville, his grandfather Everett Schalow and his grandmother, Wanda Schalow of Belding.
A joyful Celebration of Life in honor of Josh will take place at Tafoya Hall, 8245 New Lothrop Road, New Lothrop, MI 48460, on November 19th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share fond memories, pictures, and stories. The family encourages attendees to dress casually, as Josh would best remember them that way. Those unable to attend can send messages, photos, cards, and support to email,
