Joy Nedra Thomason

Joy Nedra (Baugher) Thomason, 95, of Anderson, passed away on October 24, 2025, at the Edgewater Woods Nursing Home in Anderson, IN. She was born on September 3, 1930, in Elwood, Indiana, to George Lester and Freada Farlance (Hancock) Baugher.
Joy graduated from Anderson High School, class of 1948.
She was a homemaker and had worked in retail. She and her husband, John, owned and operated a tavern named Snows in Frankton, IN. She also loved watching mystery movies and her two dogs, and stray cats.
Joy is survived by her step-daughter, Lani, husband, Denver, Lloyd of Louisiana; nieces and nephews, Cindy (Murray), husband, Rod, McDole of Lapel, IN, Mike Murray of Frankton, IN, Vic, wife, Mary, Murray of Frankton, IN; Carol (Murray), husband, Dennis, House of Elwood, IN, Cindy (Dean), husband, David, Throckmortan of Virginia, Diana (Dean), husband, Danny, Cole of Virginia, Tommy Dean of Virginia, and Jenny (Dean, husband, Bob, Knutti; cousin, Silvia Moore of Boise, Idaho; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wilbur Thomason; parents, George and Freada Baugher; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Irma Jean (Baugher), husband, Eugene Murray, and Patricia Ann (Baugher), husband, Alva, Dean; a nephew, Jerry Dean of Virginia, and a great-niece, Michelle House of Elwood.
A special thanks to her niece, Cindy Throckmortan, for the letters, pictures, and cards to Aunt Joy through the years. And to Anew Hospice Nurse, Kara Sizemore, for the great care she provided. Thanks also to the Edgewater Woods Nursing Home.
