Joyce Belle Bardin, 94, passed away on May 8th, 2023, at her home in Kennedale, Texas. She was born on May 13th, 1928, to John Carl Foust and Vesta Peterman Foust in Michigan. Joyce attended school in Kennedale and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1945. She attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
She worked in the Mansfield school district for 35 years. She was a fifth-grade teacher during those years. She retired in 2004. Joyce was involved with the Mansfield Retired Teachers organization and the Kennedale Historical Society.
Joyce was preceded in death by parents, John Carl and Vesta Foust; and sister, Jo Helfenstine. She is survived by daughter, Joy Bardin; son, John Bardin; grandson, Sean Bardin; nieces, Vickie Helfenstine, Barbara Sands, and Linda Hill Steinmetz. She is also survived by many life-long friends, teaching co-workers, and many other special people. Joyce lived a long, blessed life. She will be greatly missed by us all.
