I am Steve Cook. I was a classmate of Joyce´s in the Strength Training class at the VMCC. I always found Joyce warm, upbeat and appreciative of people and life. Although she had plenty to complain about I rarely heard such a word. She just kept moving forward. I will always think of her when I see Gnomes or have a Jello Shot! The Sun´s warmth lives on after it sets, so too the warmth that Joyce has given us will live on in the hearts and minds of those she has touched. I will miss her and our group lunches together.

Joyce has been a BFF since the 1970s when we were at Doherty together. She introduced me to card making and we continued that interest from then on. She was fun, supportive, loving, a great traveling buddy to Door County several times. But most importantly, she was the strongest and bravest cancer fighter. She was determined not to let it rule her life. She will be missed at the DRB Zoom chats and our annual luncheon. With great love and tears, I will miss that smile and positive attitude. Be at peace and free of pain.

Sending condolences to Joyce´s family at this sad time. We worked with Joyce at DR&B and reconnected a while ago on monthly Zooms with other alums. She was a wonderful, positive person who loved her family and friends. We will miss her smile and caring temperament.

As an attorney at Oppenheimer, I spent quite a few years on the same floor as Joyce. She was a wonderful person and a beautiful friend, always laughing, except when she was talking about her children and grandchildren, and sometimes even then. I remember her being so excited when she built her little cabin and showed everyone at the office her pictures. She was a true joy.
