Joyce Hamas Obituary

Joyce was born January 31, 1933 in Peoria to the late Charles C. and Mae E. Muller Nutty. She married Eugene F. Hamas on May 19, 1951 in Washington; he preceded her in death on July 27, 2013.
Surviving are their children, Stephen Hamas of Creve Coeur and Dan (Janis) Hamas of East Peoria, and Kathee (Charles) Kiefer of Homer, Alaska; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jim (Diane) Nutty of Arden, NC and Gloria (Kent) Gerber of Wellington, NV
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara.
In her younger years, Joyce was at teller at Danforth Bank in Washington. She went on to become a wonderful homemaker, loving her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Gene enjoyed spending time outdoors and traveling. Joyce was a long time parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington, and also attended St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria over the years. She was loved by all who knew her and her legacy will be one of love.
A private family service will be held, with interment at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
