Joyce Kleb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - CyFair - Northwest on Nov. 10, 2024.
Joyce Ruth Kleb, 90, of Houston, Texas, was received into Jesus's waiting arms on November 1st, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce was born August 12th, 1934, in Houston, Texas to the late Frank J. Zaboroski and Lilia Natalie (Juergen) Zaboroski. She was baptized into the Christian faith on November 23, 1941 and confirmed her Faith on March 30, 1947 at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church in Cypress, Texas. Soon after her marriage in June 1951 to Tevan B. Kleb Sr., they became members of St. John Lutheran Church, Cypress. Joyce remained a faithful member until being called Home.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Tevan B. Kleb Jr and wife Maria; Ronald W. Kleb and wife Isabella, daughter Karen Kleb Kelley; granddaughters, Angela Knaute and husband Alex, Kristin Dolfi and husband Chris, Sarah Barrow and husband Charles, Amber Keown and husband Eric, Shawna Honeycutt and husband Jason and Marina Allen; 16 great-grandchildren Katelyn, Kallista, Karleigh, Kassie, Makinna, Amelia, Madilyn, Nathan,, Avery, Lillian, Colin, Kendall, Olivia, Ian, Ryleigh and Dylan; brother Gene Zaboroski and wife Delphine and numerous extended family members and friends.
Including her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tevan B. Kleb Sr., brother Byron Hanks, and great-great-granddaughter Whitley Shields.
After graduating from Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Joyce devoted her energies to her husband and the three children God blessed their union with. As the children grew up, she sought work outside the home, first in Cy-Fair High Food Services, then as the operator of Joyce's Hair Salon, and next in Office Services in several businesses "not too far from home". Joyce's final work experience found her as a Bus Attendant with the Cy-Fair ISD Transportation Department caring for students with special needs. She was well equipped for this job having spent many of the preceding years caring for family members as they aged and their health failed.
After retiring with 15 years of service from the Transportation Department, Joyce volunteered at Kleb Woods Nature Center and then Cypress Top Historic Park where she hosted visitors and lead tours of its buildings that were special to her in her youth. Joyce's mother, Lilia, was a Juergen after all!
From friendships formed through these volunteer positions, Joyce was introduced to the world of ballroom dancing. She was a natural and Joyce excelled at it. As time went along, she became affectionately known as "Mama Joyce" to her friends at the Arthur Murray Studios. She was always smiling and happiest when she was on her feet dancing. God graced Joyce with years of these fun and happy times. She will be missed!
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, November 21st at 1 PM at St. John Lutheran, 15235 Spring Cypress Road, Cypress, Texas, 77429, with Rev. David Schultz officiating. A time of visitation will be held at 12 noon preceding the service. A reception will be held immediately after the service with interment to follow for members of the family in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, 19520 Lutheran Cemetery Road.
Memorials may be given to the St. John Lutheran Church Prayer Garden Ministry, 15235 Spring Cypress Road, Cypress, TX 77429, or Cypress Top Historical Park, 26026 Hempstead Road, Cypress, TX 77429.
