Joyce Phyllis Myers, 85, died peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and community leader, notably serving as President of the Senior Adult Club at the Trager Family Jewish Community Center.
Joyce was born on August 7, 1939, in Malden, Massachusetts, to Irving and Sophie Sobel. She relocated to Louisville in 2011 to be closer to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lorraine, and her brothers Sheldon and Arnold, and Arnold's wife Judy.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Elyse and Randi; her son, Brian; her grandson, Ian Conner; her sister-in-law, Harriet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will start at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Herman Meyer & Son, Inc., 1338 Ellison Avenue, followed by burial at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Visitors are welcome at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Trager Family JCC-Sr. Adult Club or Congregation Adath Jeshurun.
