Belton-Stroup Funeral Home - FairbornJoyce Margaret Thompson, age 86, of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. She was born on January 17, 1939, in Middlesex, England, the daughter of the late Ceril Francis and Doris Lillian Amor. Joyce lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
Joyce dedicated over 15 years of her life as a nursing assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where her compassion and care touched many lives. After retiring, she continued to nurture her family with the same gentle kindness she shared with her patients.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 65 years, Shirley "Bud" Lewis Thompson; daughters, Belinda Thompson, Shirley Carroll; sisters, Natalie MacDonald, Shirley Godfree, Eileen Quigley; and brother, Norman Amor.
She is survived by her loving daughters; Susan Long, Patricia (Mark) Meade, Terry (Ronnie) Phelps; grandchildren, Heather (Jared) Hill, Gillian (Matt) Prosser, Justin (Karla) Abbott, Belinda (DJ) Gilliam, Taylor Meade, Zane (Dana) Long; as well as extended family, many cherished great-grandchildren and dear friends.
Joyce will be remembered for her love of shopping, her endless cups of tea, her deep joy in spending time with family, and most of all, for the beautiful life she shared with her beloved Bud.
A memorial service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Oakcreek Church, 4800 Bigger Road, Kettering, Ohio. A time for fellowship and food will follow the memorial service.
Joyce's legacy of love and grace will live on in all who knew and loved her.
