Jr McClary Obituary

He was born on November 27, 1931, near Keota, Oklahoma, to John R. and Gertrude (England) McClary. He grew up in Lequire, OK, and received his GED. JR received an associate degree from Maine State College.
JR served in the United State Army for 20+ years and retired as a Sergeant First Class with meritorious achievement awards, as well as earning a Bronze Star.
After his retirement from the US Army, JR began his profession as an HVAC technician, later working many years as a farm mechanic in Tuttle, OK, and a maintenance mechanic for the Coca-Cola plant in OKC.
JR loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and he was an avid book reader.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Fern V. McClary; his parents; his sister Rosa Lee McClary Stiles; and his son Dennis McClary.
He is survived by his daughters, Anna Westrup and Jennifer McClary and her fiancée Mike Spencer; two sisters, Anna Clayton and June Wren; brother Robert McClary; grandchildren Ryan Westrup and wife Kara and their son Hudson, Jared Westrup and wife Ally and their son Oliver, Jason McClary, and Kaitlynn McClary and her son Dean; sisters in law, Carol Gilpen, Liz Gilpen, and Katherine Stoddard; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the McNeil's Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 2 pm. Burial will follow at the Union City Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.
