Juan Luna “El Ice Cubes” Lara Jr., was born in Odessa TX to Juan H. Lara Sr. And Lorina Luna Lara on November 3, 1964. He went to Odessa High School and graduated in 1983. He married Veronica Sanchez on May 18, 1984 in Odessa. He was a forklift operator for 30 plus years. Juan loved playing football through his childhood and high school years. He was a “Huge” Dallas Cowboys’ fan, always cheering his team on! He loved dancing and blasting his oldies Tejano and lowrider jams. He also loved cooking BBQ and hanging out with his family and friends. He also coached for the southside little league where he touched many kids lives. He had a “Big” heart and loved very hard and always protected his family and friends. He was the greatest husband and dad ever, that we could be blessed with. He was loved by many and will always be loved and live in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27,2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 2pm, Burial will follow immediately after at Ector County Cemetery Odessa II section. He is proceeded in death by Juan H. Lara Sr. and Lorina Luna Lara, Eddie and Ramon Lara. He is survived by his wife Veronica S. Lara, children Mathew and Racheal Lara, Jacob and Patricia Lara, Victoria and Manny Orta, Raymond Lara, and Niressa and Vonnie Chavez. He had 11 grandchildren and one on the way. Many nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews and primas and primos. Pallbearers will be, Alvardo Lara, Alfred McGuire, Joe Garcia, Mark Rodriguez, Phillip Galindo, Piedad Rodriguez, David Barrientos Jr. And Daniel Renteria. The Lara Family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the ICU unit, Dr’s and nurses at MCH for everything to help. May he rest in peace in Paradise!
