Juanita K. Martin

Juanita Kincaid Martin, age 98, passed into the arms of the Lord on August 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and James Earl Kincaid; husbands, Benny Ray Greene and Rev. Johnny Weldon Martin; step-daughter, Brenda Moore; siblings, Willie (Buford) Skelton, Lottie (Aubie) Gowan, James Earl (Elizabeth and Geraldine) Kincaid Jr., and Imogene (Michael) Farrell; nephews, Mike Farrell, Dan Farrell, and Aubie Alvin "Sonny" Gowan, Jr.

Juanita was born in Griffin and graduated from Griffin High School. She had a 30 year career with Bell South Telephone Company, retiring as a Service Observer in the Atlanta area. She was a devoted Christian who deeply loved the Lord, and her strong faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her legacy of love, strength and devotion to God will continue to live on through all who knew her.

She is survived by her step son-in-law, Douglas Moore; step grandchildren, Lewis Moore, Kathy Moylneux, and Darlene Greene; nieces and nephews, Nancy Till, Jim Kincaid, Peggy Dinsmore, Tony Gowan, Mary Farrell, and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the caretakers at Brightmoor Nursing Center, where she spent the last eight years of her life. We are especially indebted to CNA Carol Evans, who took such loving care of her for the past several years.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the North Griffin CH Church, 106 LaPrade Road. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
