Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rochette Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Oct. 29, 2025.
Judith R "Judy" Daigle, 76, left us to take her place among the stars on October 25, 2025. Judy was born on August 25, 1949 in Brookline, MA. She was the daughter of the late Richard G. and Edith V. (Parsons) Preston. She spent her childhood in Watertown and Burlington, MA. In 1967, she graduated from Burlington High School. After graduation, she furthered her education at Chandler School for Women in Boston, MA, Hesser College, Franklin Pierce University, and the New England Academy of Therapeutic Sciences. Judy loved attending school and was a lifelong learner.
After graduating from Chandler School for Women, Judy began her professional career at MIT Lincoln Labs. She worked in many prestigious hi-tech offices before becoming a legal assistant. She spent numerous years as an assistant to various lawyers in the greater Nashua area. Later in her career, Judy transitioned to healing work in massage therapy and reiki. She became a licensed massage therapist and prior to her retirement was a state examiner.
Although Judy had a long and successful career, she found her most rewarding title was "Mimi". She loved her grandchildren with her entire heart and did everything in her power to keep them smiling and happy. She looked forward to her daily calls from Five, Eiralys, Lucien, and Ava. She found so much joy in planning new trips, shows, and experiences with them. A few of her favorite things to share with them were apple picking, trips to North Conway, and seeing A Christmas Carol performed by Gerald Charles Dickens every holiday season.
On these, and many other trips, her beloved lifetime partner, Henry Bernardini, was by her side. Judy and Hank traveled all over the world together. They saw many of the US National Parks, enjoyed multiple cruises, and were always looking forward to new adventures. Judy's favorite destinations were Tahiti, Bermuda, and Italy. She had a passion for meeting new people and seeing new places. She compiled an astounding list of all the places she went, calling it Judy's Journeys.
Judy's life in itself was an amazing journey. After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 25, she made it her mission to live life to the fullest. She believed that her T1D was a wake up call to make her time here on earth matter. She lived a beautifully full life that culminated in a year of last adventures. When Judy was diagnosed with renal failure and a finite amount of time left, she began making plans. She saw the sights she wanted to see, ate the meals she wanted to eat, made memories with the people she loved most, and most importantly - collected the hugs she wanted to take with her on her next journey. She comforted those closest to her in her final days telling them if they need her to look to the stars and she will be there listening, and if they need an answer to simply look inside their heart, she'll always be there.
In addition to her two children, Cynthia King and her husband Paul IV of Milford, Richard Daigle and Sara Goss of Weare, NH; her four grandchildren Paul V, Eiralys, Lucien, and Ava, she is also survived by her lifetime partner, Hank. She also leaves behind her brother Douglas W. Preston and his wife Carolynne of Waterboro, ME as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Judy's life on November 8, 2025 from 12:00p-1:30p at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua NH.
