Julia (Gorecki) Gentile, 94, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. Born in Springfield on January 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Julia (Santo) Gorecki, Sr.
Raised in Springfield, she was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Not long afterward, she met the love of her life, Thomas Tommy J. Gentile; they married in 1949, and settled in Springfield where they raised two sons.
Julia always had a kind heart. She was at her greatest joy when she was spending time with family and friends. Be it the holidays or a family celebration, Julia always brought her kindness and warmth to the occasion, along with one of her favorite dishes. Her kindness and warmth will be greatly missed by all. Everyone who knew Julie loved Julie!
She had a love for good food and for many years enjoyed cooking alongside her husband Tommy. Although she enjoyed spending time with family, she relished her alone time. Julia was an avid reader & talk radio fan which enabled her to keep up with current events.
Along with her parents and beloved husband of 64 years, Julia was predeceased by her son, Nicholas Nicky Gentile, and brother, Joseph Gorecki, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Gary Gentile, granddaughter, Angela Gentile, and many nieces, nephews & extended family.
Julias funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery.
