She was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean Cumming.
She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and began her career as President of M&O Plumbing Company Inc.
Julia is predeceased by her late husband, John W. Miller and her late daughter, Gaye Sorrentino.
Julia is survived by her daughter Heather Cimorelli and her husband Albert, daughter Holly Miller and her partner Sal, sister Grace Cumming, and son-in-law Robert Sorrentino.
She leaves behind her grandchildren Krista Sorrentino, Justin Sorrentino and his fiance Jade Anable, Gae Sorrentino, Jonathan Sorrentino and his wife Colby, Michael Zarrelli and his wife Amanda, Christian Costantini and longtime girlfriend Shay, Sarah McNeil and her husband Jesse, Shawn and Cole Cimorelli.
As well as her great grandchildren Hudson, Ryder, Sage, Myla and Raya.
Julia was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was a dedicated member of the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church where she attended regularly on Sundays and loved to sing.
Julia's heart belonged to her family, her time in Florida, and the simple pleasures of life-searching for seashells and shark teeth on the beach and always greeting others with a warm smile. You could always find Julia with some sort of activity in her hands, whether it was puzzling, painting, or coloring. Her joy for life and love for those around her left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Julia's memory to the Hudson Valley Hospice House.
