Julie Newland-Thompson, of Conroe Texas passed away October 27th, 2025, after battling a long illness. She was born January 8th, 1951, in Marshall, Texas to Max and Mattie Newland.
As a young child she moved to Conroe, Texas where she was lifelong resident and graduate of Conroe High School. Upon completing high school Julie obtained her nursing degree from Sam Houston State University and later became a registered nurse for over 30 years. Julie also held the distinct honor as the first female paramedic in Montgomery County. Julie's vibrant spirit and nurturing soul left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Those who knew Julie would describe her as a woman of indomitable spirit and boundless passion. She lived life fully, embracing each day with a sense of adventure that was infectious. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and courage.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Gary Thompson, Parents Max and Mattie Newland, and her brother Bill Newland.
She is survived by her children Rachel Buchanan- Wright and husband Johnny, Scott Buchanan and wife Colette, Sister Lisa Lentz and husband Bubba, Grandchildren Cody Eakins and wife Tarra, Caleigh Buchanan, Crysta Odom, Connor Buchanan, Cambree Hover, and Colton Wright. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
