It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Julie Miller Stofko, of Cumming, Georgia, on March 8, 2025. Born on September 25, 1963, in Washington, D.C., she was the beloved daughter of the late Gwinn and Greta Miller.
Julie was a devoted mother, loyal friend, and kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her generosity and selflessness knew no bounds-she consistently put the needs of others before her own, offering love, support, laughter, and guidance to those around her.
She was a graduate of Towson State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. Her commitment to improving the well-being of others extended beyond her professional life, as she continually found ways to uplift and care for those around her.
Julie had a profound love for animals, dedicating countless hours to the animal rescue community. Over the years, she fostered more than 50 dogs, providing them with love, care, and a safe haven to heal until they found their forever homes. Her tireless efforts to help animals in need were a testament to her compassionate and gentle nature.
Julie was also known for her strength, resilience, and ability to face challenges head-on. She loved her family and friends fiercely, and her home was always a gathering place for warmth, delicious food, and cherished memories. Her vibrant energy and charismatic nature drew people to her, and her loud, loving greetings and heartfelt hugs will be forever remembered.
Above all, Julie cherished her family. She deeply loved her children, Daniel Stofko (fiancé Wyatt Avison) and Kellie McRae (husband Liam McRae). She is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Miller and Sandy Rogers, as well as the father of her children, Robert Stofko. Julie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Miller.
A celebration of life to honor Julie will be held on April 3, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Shiloh Gardens 5235 Union Hill Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
To celebrate Julie's life, we would love for you to wear warm colors or clothing that reflects her vibrant spirit, rather than traditional mourning attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to FurKids Animal Rescue in Julie's memory. Donations can be made at furkids.org/donation.
