Julius David Gace, 85, of Pinehurst, Texas, passed from this life on September 25, 2024. He was born on November 13, 1938 to Dave and Irene Gace in Humble, Texas.
JD was a wonderful friend, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed all of God's creation. JD was baptized at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Westfield on December 11,1938. He was also confirmed at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in
Klein, TX and graduated from Klein High School in 1957. He met the love of his life, Beverly Joy Hendrix, in 1958. A few months later, they were married on October 24, 1958. In 1961, JD and Bev started their family. They had three children, Toby Ann, Troy David and Wendy Sue. Teaching their children about Jesus and about loving people, animals and nature was important to JD and Beverly. JD loved to fish and hunt and hang out with his buddies, Wayne Kleb and Donny Bonds. They enjoyed playing bingo, dominoes and trying their luck with the lotto. He was proud to work for the Entex Gas Company for 44 years. After he retired, he started working for Trinity Lutheran School preparing meals for all the children. He was loved by all the students at Trinity, especially for making the best chocolate chip cookies every Wednesday at snack time. JD loved Jesus and frequently told all those around him about his relationship with Him. Jesus carried JD through many of his battles-having cancer, the loss of his beloved wife, losing his eyesight. JD has won his last battle with Jesus holding him in His arms. He went to be with his Father in Heaven on September 25, 2024 with all of his children and their families by his side. JD/Dad/Popo will truly be missed. But, we know we will see him again one day.
