June Arave

June Arave passed away quietly on June 2, 2025 at The Gables in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was born June Sunderland to Thomas and Alice Sunderland on June 11, 1927 in Lehi, Utah. She had 7 siblings. June married early in life and had a lovely daughter, Connie Rae Irwin (Bill). She then married Marshall Arave on August 27, 1953. They lived in Magna, Utah, until the recession of 1953 when they moved to Blackfoot, ID. Marsh and June had 3 boys, Richard (Mary), Earl (Emily) and Rob. June worked at INL in Arco for many years as a telephone operator and secretary. June is survived by her son Earl Arave of Blackfoot Idaho, and nine grandchildren.
June was a master quilter and knitter. She enjoyed golf, bridge, walking and making chokecherry preserves. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she loved volunteering within her church and her community. June was an amazing wife, mother, and friend, and she will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Taylor Cemetery, under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
