June Berkey Obituary

Born on September 17, 1938, in Rittman, Ohio, June was the daughter of the late William and Rhea (Harpster) Brown. She married Merlin David Berkey on June 4, 1966, in her hometown of Rittman. He survives her.
A 1956 graduate of Rittman High School, June continued her education for two years at Bob Jones University. She dedicated over 40 years to her career as an Ophthalmology Technician and Office Manager, working in several doctors' offices before retiring in 2011.
June's greatest joy was her role as a pastor's wife. She found deep fulfillment in her ministry and cherished her regular virtual fellowship with Christian women from across the country.
In addition to her husband, Merlin, June is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Alkyer and Nancy Jones; brothers, David (Sharon) Brown and James (Carol) Brown; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Steve Alkyer and Duane L. Jones.
Honoring June's wishes, no services will be held and cremation will take place. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Rittman Cemetery.
