Karen Sue Borda, 64, of Houston, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 30, 2025, in her home. She was born September 2, 1960, in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert and Donna Rose Knox. Karen was a 1978 graduate of Washington High School. Mrs. Borda had worked as a cashier at Foodland, a bartender at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, office manager for William Amos Dental in Washington and as a private duty care giver. She was a member of the BPOE Lodge #776 in Washington. Karen enjoyed crafting, camping at Presque Isle in Erie and was an Amazon addict. Most importantly, she enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends. Surviving are her husband, John F. Borda; three children, Amanda Six (Mike) of Claysville, Andy Clemens (Jessica) of Washington and Elizabeth Borda (Bayle Smith) of Castle Shannon; four grandchildren, Alexia, Hayley, Kaiden and Ember Clemens; two brothers, Kenneth Knox of Washington and Kevin Knox (Amanda) of Taylorstown; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents, are two brothers, Dwayne and Kerri Knox. Friends will be received from 5 to 7:30 pm, the time of service, Thursday, July 3, 2025, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Karen's family would like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospice of Washington for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concordia of Washington, Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301.
