Karen Emley

Karen M. Emley (Franceschelli), age 70, of Farmington, CT passed away on June 9th, 2025, at UConn Health Center in Farmington. Karen was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Ann (Malvaso) Franceschelli. She was also predeceased by her sister, Heather.
She was a graduate of Auburn High School and attended Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. She also earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Boston University in Boston, MA.
Before recently retiring, Karen worked as a Systems Analyst at Cornell University, a Software Engineer at Raytheon Company and a CC: Mail Administrator at Scitex America Corporation. Karen was a passionate cook and loved to travel. She had a soft heart for greyhound dogs as she adopted several during her lifetime.
Karen is survived by her spouse Mark Emley of Land o' Lakes, FL, son Christopher Emley of Farmington, CT, brother Anthony (Jill) Franceschelli of Auburn, NY, sister Sharon (Dennis) Thomas of Auburn, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Emley family would like to thank the AccentCare Hospice Program for making her last stage of Karen's life comfortable.
Family and friends may gather in the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center at 301 Country Club Road, Avon, CT for a calling hour on Saturday, June 28th from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with services immediately following at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Connecticut Greyhound Adoption (ctgreyhounds.org) or a charity of one's choice.
