Roseanna Cary

Roseanna (Russo) Cary, 91, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Willard A. Cary, was called home by God, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
She was born on October 7, 1934, in Hartford, CT, daughter to the late Anna (Mandziuk) and James Russo. Roseanna attended St. Peter's School in Hartford and Hartford Public High School and was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. On September 14, 1957, she married the love of her life, Willard, and raised their four children in East Hartford before moving to and remaining in South Windsor.
Roseanna was a loving and dedicated stay-at-home mom. She started her career in the banking industry when her children went off to school. She was a person of strong faith and a long-time parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid supporter of the UConn Women's basketball team. Roseanna cherished every moment she had to spend with her family. She showed her love through her cooking and holiday gatherings. She embraced her role as the family matriarch. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all.
Roseanna's life will continue to live on through her sons Michael of South Windsor and David of Pendleton, SC, and daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Robert Tremblay of South Windsor, as well as her precious granddaughters, Alicia (Josh, fiancé) Cary of Pendleton, SC, and Meghan and Melissa Tremblay of South Windsor, and her great-granddaughter Bellavita Grimm. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
She rejoined the love of her life, Willard, and her son James A. Cary. She was also predeceased by her brothers Gennaro, Joseph, Peter, and James Russo, her infant sister Anna Russo, and a cousin Rose Levigne who was like a sister to her.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 8 – 9:30am, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Ellington Rd., South Windsor, beginning at 10am. Burial will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, in Bloomfield.
