Richard Mattarazzo

Richard Mattarazzo, 74, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband for 48 years of Janice (Vincek) Mattarazzo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.
He was born in Hartford on April 10, 1951, son of the late Salvatore and Anna (Puzzo) Mattarazzo, and was raised in Windsor, attended local schools and was a 1969 graduate of Windsor High School.
Rich had a long and successful career in purchasing, first at Terry Steam Turbine for 17 years, then at Stowe Machine for the next 15 years, leaving to start his own home improvement business which he closed in 2010.
He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, as well as UCONN Men & Women's basketball fan. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time on the ocean cruising in their boat. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, especially his "Little Man" David.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter, Amy Santerre, son-in-law Eric and grandson, David of Enfield, his sisters-in-law, Patricia Mattarazzo of Windsor and Sandra Hedderman, and brother-in-law Robert of Windsor Locks. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his best friends John Aniskoff and Rich and Cathy Mosher.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Frank Mattarazzo, and his nephew Steven Mattarazzo.
Richard's family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT 06095. A Memorial Service will follow at Carmon's beginning at 11:30AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Connecticut Humane Society.
