Karen Jaracz Obituary Karen A. Jaracz, 76, of Amsterdam, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Capstone Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Amsterdam.
Born in Schenectady, NY on October 22, 1947 a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Anne Tomecko Baumane
She was a graduate of Scotia Glenville High School and received her business degree from Albany Business College.
Karen was employed as an office manager at Dr. Edward J. Ballentine in Gloversville, NY. Prior to her retirement Karen was office manager at Baptist Family Medical in Scotia, NY.
She married Richard J. Jaracz on August 1, 1970.
Karen enjoyed doing ceramics, planting her vegetables and flower gardens, planning and hosting parties especially around the holidays, listening to polka music and most of all spending time cooking in her kitchen.
Karen also enjoyed helping others during their time of need, spending time with her family especially her four legged "Son" Cooper and all the "Grand Pups".
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Richard, she is survived by her beloved children, Kelly Jaracz of Glenville, NY, Tracy (Dan) Santa Maria of Amsterdam and Jeff (Tanya) Jaracz of Amsterdam. Cousins, Carol (Richard) Fredenburg of Glenville, NY, Barabra Stelmach of Schenectady, Sandra Tomecko of Schenectady and Veronica Gerhardt of Connecticut along with many close friends.
A Special Thanks to the Capstone Nursing Physical Therapy Department and all the nurses on the 2nd floor, especially second floor nurse manager Meagan Trumbull for treating Karen like she was her "Mama".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 26,2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50-52 Cornell St., Amsterdam with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church St. Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA or to the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department. Please visit Karens tribute at www.roseandhughesfh.com
