Katherine DeBonis

Katherine DeBonis passed away at home on March 5, 2025 at the age of 73. She was born on June 23, 1951 in Flushing, New York to the late Karl and Elizabeth (Rockefeller) Kirchner. On June 16, 1973, she married her beloved husband Anthony John DeBonis. Anthony predeceased her in 2005.
Katherine absolutely loved to cook for her family, friends, and neighbors. When she wasn't cooking, she was talking about what she was going to cook! She was very witty and direct, and she loved to laugh. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzles by Will Shortz, reading, and baking Christmas cookies.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Micci DeBonis and Gina Giordano; her grandchildren: McKayla Corletta and her husband Chris, Julian DeCicco, Saige Giordano, and Sophia Giordano; her sisters: Janet Vitanza and her husband Robert, Elise Coughlin, and Marguerite Krom and her husband Donald; as well as many other family members.
In addition to her husband Anthony John DeBonis, Katherine was predeceased by her son Anthony Karl DeBonis, her significant other of 15 years, Salvatore Lisi, and her brother-in-law William Coughlin.
A funeral service will take place on Friday March 14, 2025 at 11am at the DuBois Chapel at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, immediately followed by entombment.
