Katherine Robin Michelle Desguin, 60, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 7, 2025 at The Ark House group home, surrounded by her loving family after a long and valiant 22 year battle with brain cancer and epilepsy, during which time she was able to raise three fine children into adulthood who will greatly miss her unconditional love and encouragement.

Katherine was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Jon and Caroline Desguin on March 25, 1965. She was a 1984 graduate of Aiken High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio, before moving with her family to Maine where, as a 20-year member of Grace Baptist Church, she served in the Awana program, the deaf ministry, and also sang in the choir. She was married to Randall Jeane 1988-2018 and had a daughter and two sons.

Katherine was known for her sweet spirit and witty sense of humor, and her passion for learning which she passed on to her children whom she helped homeschool after moving back to Ohio in 2006. Her greatest joy was being “Mom.” Taking her children to the library was one of her very favorite activities, a memory greatly cherished by her children. She loved studying the Bible, signing for the deaf, collecting dolls, creating highly detailed doodle-art projects, and so enjoyed her farm chickens. She was a Star Trek fan, and in her later years, became a Michael Jackson fan, even doing research to write a small biography about his life.

The family is so grateful to all the family and friends who were able to come to the wonderful “Celebration of Life” event held for and with Kathy present before she declined in her final days.

She is survived by her mother, Caroline Volle, her sister, Christine (Ed) Barker, her brother, Andrew Desguin, her daughter, Rebecca Jeane, and two sons, Tyler and Timothy Jeane. She is predeceased by her father, Jon Desguin.

The family wants to thank the loving staff at The Ark House, a group home where Katherine was loved and cared for these last four years, where she enjoyed swimming, crafts, shopping trips, going out to movies, church, and many other enriching activities with others, with frequent visits to her favorite restaurant, Skyline Chili. Her dancing to Michael Jackson music was a frequent delight to everyone at Ark House, where she was known for giving “the best hugs.” Her keen sense of humor was enjoyed by all, and her “side-eye” was legendary.

The family also extends their sincere gratitude to Hospice 360 for their compassionate nursing and ministry support.

Her energy, wit, and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her children hold her in great esteem for her amazing perseverance and devotion to their happiness. She lived a remarkable life for someone with so many great challenges.

A private reception for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ark House at  https://arkhouseohio.org
