Born in Salisbury on September 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Eva Dykes. After graduation she married her sweetheart Willard H. Pusey and they were married until his untimely death in 1971. Kitty was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren.
Katherine (Kitty) was a graduate of Wi-Hi School. She worked at the Fruitland Shirt Factory until its closing. From there she worked in Salisbury Retail Stores including Phillipsborn, Hess Apparel, Peebles, and Phillip's Men Shop each until their closing. Katherine retired from working away from home when she was 78 years old. Katherine enjoyed making memories with her family, traveling, gardening, growing her beautiful flowers, and she loved her family pets.
She is survived by her three children, William H. Pusey, Nadine M. Stainbrook and Kathy D. Pusey, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Brown and brother-in-law Stanley Brown, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard H. Pusey, her sister, Aileen Pusey, and nephews Rick and Bruce Pusey.
A funeral service will be held at Holloway Funeral Home on Monday, August 18, 2025 with visitation at 12:30 p.m. and service beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bruce Bowden officiating. Immediately following the ceremony, interment will be in Smullen Cemetery, Salisbury, Maryland.
The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff at Alice B. Tawes Nursing and Rehabilitation for the excellent care, love, and compassion that was given to Mom in her time there. From November of 2022 to August 10, 2025 we believe the care she received extended her life and we are so grateful.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Alice B. Tawes Nursing and Rehabilitation , 201 Hall Hwy., Crisfield, MD 21817 and or The Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
