Katherine Pearl Sebastian

Katherine "Kathy" Pearl Sebastian, who left us tragically on August 12, 2025, due to an accident was born on July 25, 1960, in Austin, Indiana, and lived a life full of meaningful moments and cherished memories.

Kathy graduated from Austin High School and spent many years dedicated to her work, first at Family Dollar and most recently as a deli clerk at Walmart. She was loved by her customers and coworkers alike for her warm smile and kind spirit. She married Charles "Chuck" Sebastian on July 11, 2004 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2024.

Kathy was a family-oriented person who truly cherished her time with loved ones. Her passion for animals was evident to all; she had a special place in her heart for every furry friend that crossed her path.

Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation at Collins Funeral Home on August 19, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM. A memorial service in her honor will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Scottsburg Cemetery.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her step-children, Ryan and Angie Sebastian, Mandy Sebastian and Charlie Sebastian, her step-grandchildren, Kalei Robinson, Breanna Sebastian, Blake Engle, Brantley Cissell and Ashley Sebastian as well as several cousins and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Derringer, Sr. and Mabel White Derringer, her husband Chuck Sebastian, her son, James Earl Combs and her sisters, Mary Plaster and Jackie Morris.

In keeping with her love for animals, Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Scott County in her memory.
