Kathleen "Kate" Stritch (Trotter) Hacker, 75, of Alexandria, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Inova Alexandria Hospital. She was born in Sanford, Maine on May 12, 1949, to William and Marjorie (Stritch) Trotter.
Kate graduated from Radford College with a degree in Library Science. In her earlier years she had been a school librarian, a secretary, and a world traveler. Kate dedicated her life to being a mother and a friend. She enjoyed writing letters and talking to family and friends for hours on the phone. She had a passion for reading, especially womens biographies. She also enjoyed listening to talk radio and watching PBS and Hallmark movies.
Kate is survived by her husband of 44 years Gary Hacker and by her daughter Marjorie "Dale" (Hacker) Ramirez, son-in-law Edwin Ramirez, and 2 grandchildren Christopher and MJ of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her three brothers, Bertram T Trotter, William H Trotter Jr., and Mitchell A Trotter.
The funeral Service will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Old Town Community Church, 212 South Washington Street, Alexandria, VA.22314. Interment will be at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a gift in remembrance of Kate be given to your favorite charity.
