Kathleen Jacklin Obituary
Kathleen Jacklin died July 2, 2024. Kathleen and Kenneth (her twin brother) were born
in Sayre, PA November 17, 1924. She spent her early years in Wilawana, PA, Bradford
County, Athens Township, at the family home. Her parents were W. Russell Jacklin and
Hazel Kunzman Jacklin.
She graduated from Athens High School as valedictorian in 1942. She graduated from
Elmira College in 1950, summa cum laude. While attending Elmira College she was
elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her MA from Cornell University and was on the
staff of the archives (Rare and Manuscripts) from 1952 until her retirement in 1990. She
was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Her two loves in life were cats and
travel. Travel included attendance at International Congress on archives in Stockholm,
Moscow, London, and Paris. Other travels included the British Isles, China,
South America, Australia, and New Zealand. She was a great lover of cats, her most
recent being Twila.
She is survived by her nephews, Ralph, Charles, Victor, and Clinton, and
nieces, Beverly, Janet, and Debra. She was predeceased by her parents, twin brother,
younger brothers Stanley and Stuart, sister Lucille, and niece Linda.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00AM at Bangs
Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, NY. The service will be livestreamed at www.bangsfuneralhome.com
