Kathleen (Young) Miles passed on March 2, 2025, peacefully at Wellbrooke of Avon in Indiana. She was born to Shirley Plowman and Roderick Young on December 3, 1951, in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was the middle sister of Larry and Deborah.
After serving as a Communications Specialist in the Army, she graduated from American University in Washington DC with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She will always be remembered for her endless supply of smiles, happiness, and her ability to befriend anyone, including her husband of 47 years who she met hitchhiking on the Army base, Kurt.
She loved traveling and seeing new places with her family, both during and after Kurt's time in the Army. She was also known to use cruising as a means of traveling around the world and reading romance novels of all kinds to pass the time between her globetrotting adventures. In the words of her family, she was the most incredible and beautiful bright woman many of them had ever known and they will greatly miss having special bonding time together.
She was a loving wife to Kurt, and a patient mom to her children, Justin and Erin as well as mother-in-law to Lisa Miles. She was also a compassionate grandmother to Mathias (Myra), Samantha, Emma, Tristan, Meghan and Karleigh. She is survived by both her husband and siblings.
