Kathleen H. Quiggins, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. Born July 15, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of the late J. Herbert and Viola Hutchinson.
Kathleen lived a life defined by quiet joy, deep love for her family, and an appreciation for the simple things. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she found fulfillment in nurturing those around her and creating a warm, welcoming home.
Though she considered herself a homebody at heart, Kathleen had an adventurous spirit when it came to travel. As a former travel agent and teacher at Sullivan College, she shared her love of exploring the world with others, later joining her beloved husband Kenneth in his work travels. Her heart remained in Venice, Italy, which she fondly called her favorite destination.
With a quick wit and a kind heart, Kathleen brought laughter and love into every room she entered. She was an avid animal lover, especially fond of cats and giraffes. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and catching up on her favorite TLC shows.
Kathleen’s warmth, humor, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth W. Quiggins Sr.; her parents, J. Herbert Hutchinson and Viola Elizabeth Talbott Hutchinson; and a daughter, Denise Roby.
Left to cherish her memory, Kathleen is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Gerrard; daughter and caregiver, Beverly Parkerson (Mike); daughter, Pamela Wooten (James); son, Kenneth W. Quiggins Jr. (Shelia); 6 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and great-nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A private burial for Mrs. Kathleen H. Quiggins will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
