Kathy Purks Obituary
Kathy was a 1984 graduate of Avon Lake High School where she enjoyed marching band and making many life-long friends. Kathy went on to earn her MBA at Akron University and enjoyed a career in automotive finance. She was an active member of Avon Lake United Church of Christ and enjoyed assisting with confirmation classes, providing many home-cooked meals and, looked forward to participating in the annual Chili CookOff. She always looked forward to spending time with the Holmes family, which she considered her second family.
At her core, Kathy was loving, kindhearted, forgiving and generous with her time to family and friends. Kathy strove to be a great aunt and friend, and that is how she is remembered by those who love her. She also struggled for many years to overcome her dependance on alcohol, which made it difficult for her to maintain relationships sometimes.
Kathy is survived by her mother Sally Purks; brother Scott (Janet) Purks; nephews and niece Ian, Lily, and Brent. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Purks; and grandparents Chuck and Ruth Blackmore.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd, Avon Lake, OH 44012. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, OH. www.buschcares.com 440.933.3202
