Kathy Lynn Shaw, aged 85, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born on December 27, 1940, in Louisiana, she graced this world with her vibrant spirit and indomitable strength.

Kathy lived an exciting and adventurous life, characterized by her larger-than-life personality and her bold, straightforward nature. She was a woman who would always tell you how it is, embodying both strength and authenticity in every aspect of her life.

Her career was as diverse and dynamic as she was. Kathy worked in various fields, including retail and as a dedicated employee at 7/11. However, her true professional passion was realized as a real estate broker, where she thrived and excelled. Outside of her professional endeavors, Kathy had a profound love for the natural world and its creatures. She possessed a unique talent for taming and training wild horses, a testament to her patience and understanding. Her passion extended to her garden, where she cultivated beauty from the earth, and to her kitchen, where she delighted in cooking. Kathy's love for animals was unwavering, and she cherished their companionship throughout her life.

An ardent fan of Elvis Presley, Kathy found joy and inspiration in his music, which resonated deeply with her spirited soul.

Kathy also served her community as an Ombudsman, providing support and guidance with her characteristic wisdom and empathy.

Kathy is survived by her beloved daughter, Michele Shaw; her cherished grandchildren, Blake Moore and Kaden Young, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear. She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Peyton Foster, of North Carolina.

Kathy's life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences and heartfelt connections, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends, who will forever hold her spirit in their hearts.
