Kay D. Acker (née Drahmann), age 86, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, passed away at home on December 19, 2025.
She was a graduate of Highlands High School and the University of Kentucky, where she served as President of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Kay was employed as a buyer for Bonwit Teller Department Store in New York City and later worked as a manager with Talbots where she was chosen to open stores across the country.
She was actively involved in her community and served on the Advisory Board of the Fort Thomas Education Foundation. Kay enjoyed meeting with friends to stitch or play bridge. She was an avid reader and a longtime member of book clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Virginia Drahmann, husband Fitzgerald Acker and her partner, Elliott Ashkenazi.
Survivors include her sister, Susan Tarvin; nieces, Judith Redden and Stacey Tarvin; great-nieces, Katherine (Spencer) Hanes, Erin Isomura, Mary Claire Redden, Sarah Redden, and Hanna Isomura; cousins, Hope (Glen) Brovont and Gordie (Erin) Shaw; and extended family members, Erica Ashkenazi, Jennifer (Nicolas) Guelfand and sons Joshua and Zachary.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 26th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Fort Thomas Ave. Fort Thomas, KY. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with burial at Evergreen cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fort Thomas Education Foundation at 28 North Fort Thomas Avenue, Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075.
