Keith Eugene Newton, age 54 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton after a brief hard battle of esophageal cancer. Keith was born on January 30, 1969, at Fort Jackson Military Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Horace L. "Jim" Newton and Patricia J. "Trish" (Adams) Smith. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he had been stationed at Hunter Armory Airfield in Savannah, Georgia. Keith later became employed with Tech Tank, currently known as CST Storage, where he currently worked in the administrative department. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and in his younger years, raced motorcycles at Road Atlanta. In his spare time, you could find him watching The Final Countdown and tv shows about restoring old cars, but spending quality time with his family and his cats meant the most to him. Keith will be remembered as a loving husband and father; and enjoyed the simple things in life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, James R. "Booty" Douglas. Keith is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Rhonda Newton; son, Zachary James Newton; brother, James "Jimmy" Newton; step-father, William S. "Smitty" Smith; mother and father -in – law, Polly Anna (Glenn) Rogers; brother and sister -in -law, Johnny and Tina Crabtree; niece, Courtney Tobitt; and nephew, Dylan Tobitt.
