Keith William Settle, age 84, of Zionsville, IN, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at The Stratford in Carmel, IN.
He was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Fredricktown, MO, the son of his late parents, Wendell Settle, who was killed fighting during the Battle of the Bulge, and Anna McClarney Cooper.
Keith was a devoted husband for 65 years to his loving wife, Alice Mae (nee Jennings) Settle, and a proud father to Bradford Settle (Kelly), Todd Settle (Toni), Brian Settle (Kathleen) and Samuel Settle (Missy). He's also survived by 11 grandchildren - Morgan, Michael and Jack; Ben, Abby and Anna; Elizabeth, Tom (Danielle) and Melissa; Tori and Macie; and two great-grandchildren, John Joseph "J" and Fulton.
Keith graduated from Farmington High School, Farmington, MO, where he met Alice. He then attended Washington University in St. Louis before launching a career in insurance, working for MFA, Allstate and John Deere. Climbing to an executive level, Keith retired in his 50s and enjoyed life, splitting time between Zionsville and The Villages, FL.
Keith loved to travel with Alice, exploring sights around the world. He was an active golfer, fisherman and outdoorsman, and enjoyed his Harley Davidson years. He rode with friends throughout the Midwest, from Seattle to Alaska, and along Route 66.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, 125 W. Sycamore St. Zionsville, IN 46077. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Keith's name can be made to the Zionsville Presbyterian Church, 4775 W. 116th St., Zionsville, IN 46077. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Keith, please visit our Tree Store.
