Obituary
Kenda Anne Richards, age 57, of Kernersville, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1965 in Knoxville, TN to Kenneth and Eleanor Cox McElroy. Kenda graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1983 and the University of North Carolina - Greensboro in December of 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She held various positions over the years in both accounting and real estate, but ended her career working with North State Aviation in Winston-Salem as the Chief Financial Officer. Kenda was loved by all and will be remembered for her business savvy, her beautiful smile, and her generous heart. She will be missed by so many.
Kenda is survived by her parents Kenneth and Eleanor McElroy, sister Kellie Bennett (Tracy); niece Abby Bennett; nephews Ross Bennett (Lindsay and daughter Adilynn), John Bennett (Meg), and Trey Bennett, as well as many wonderful friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville. A graveside service officiated by Pastor Jim Grasty and Pastor Josh Wester will be held at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville at 3:00 PM Saturday following the visitation. Family and friends are welcome and invited to attend.
