Kenneth Lucien "Bubby" Barbier Sr.

Kenneth Lucien Barbier, affectionately known as "Bubby", passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the age of 92. He was a native and resident of Port Allen. Bubby was a US Air Force Veteran that served 1952 to 1956, during the Korean War. He was a retired electrician with Local Union IBEW 995 with 37 years of service. Bubby enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.
Visitation will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen on Thursday, May 1st, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Jerry Martin. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
Bubby is survived by his wife of 73 years, Joyce Morales Barbier; their seven children, Kenneth Barbier Jr and wife Ruth, Charlene Treuil and husband Joey, Lawrence Barbier and wife Renee, Keith Barbier and wife Debbie, Lori Lasseigne and husband Mark, Rhonda Messina and husband Kurt, Valerie Daigle and husband Aaron; 13 grandchildren, Scott Miller, Jessica Maranto, Jan David, Blair Dickey, Celeste Gross, Jody Treuil, Trent Daigle, Marcus Lasseigne, Heather Gascon, Yvette Aillet, Kristel Spradley, Tana Lefebvre and Claire Pratt; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Mae Barbier.
Bubby was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Rosalie Guillot Barbier; brothers, Shelby Jr, Bruce and Everette Barbier; sister, Evelyn Simoneaux; and grandson, Jake Shearer.
Bubby was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2875, American Legion and was a founding member of Lucky 7 Club.
Pallbearers will be Scott Miller, Jody Treuil, Trent Daigle, Marcus Lasseigne, Lucas Miller, Cole David and Ethan Gross.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and Audubon Hospice.
