Ken Burnside, beloved husband and cherished sweetheart of Ronda Burnside, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 18th, 2025.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Ken was the son of the late June and Robert Burnside.
In addition to his wife Ronda, he is survived by his four children, Lisa Settlemire (Robert), Danielle Gorsuch, Derek Ulrich, and Angela Thomas (Richard); eight grandchildren, Christopher Ulrich, Jonathon Ulrich, Rafe Thomas, Jacob Gorsuch, Kate Thomas, Hudson Thomas, Nicholas Gorsuch, and Reef Settlemire; brother, Gary Burnside; sister, Christie Vroman (Charles); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken loved his family. He was a member of Pebble Creek Baptist Church Taylors, South Carolina where he was a deacon and member of the finance committee. He loved his church family and looked forward to being with them on Sundays and Wednesday nights. Ken loved his Lord and Savior so much and he will be missed beyond measure. To know Ken was to love him. His wonderful smile and positive energy filled the world. He never complained and wanted everyone on Earth to know he was an ambassador for Jesus Christ. He leaves a great legacy to be carried on by his loved ones.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. following the service. A graveside will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Mountain Hill Community Church Cemetery, 34 The Cliffs Pkwy. - Landrum, SC 29356.
