Kenneth Robert Clark was born on December 13, 1966 in Santa Monica, California. He was the firstborn to Robert and LuWana Clark and has 3 younger siblings. When he was 18 months old his parents moved back to Utah where he grew up in Provo and Orem. He attended Orem High School and graduated in 1985. While in school, he played the trombone and was in the A Capella Choir. He was an Eagle scout at the age of 13 though he didn't like those winter campouts!
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Montana, Billings Mission. He loved serving in the small towns of Montana and Wyoming.
He attended and worked at UVCC after his mission. Ken was accepted to Brigham Young University but never attended because he started a full-time job at WordPerfect in their customer service department. Just over a decade later, he got his bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Phoenix.
He married Kristen Brinkerhoff in 1992 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had been married for 32 years and 10 months when he passed. They bought their first home in Orem, even before they were married, and lived there for 6 years before moving to their current home in Pleasant Grove on Valentine's Day in 1998. In the Spring of 1999, they welcomed their first child, Brandt, into their family. Three years later Brandee was born and then 3 years after that, their youngest child, Brooke joined the family. He loved to spend time with his children in any activity. He loved to see them off to work in the mornings and especially enjoyed going shooting with Brandt. Ken loved keeping everything that was a memory of his growing little family and was always teased for taking too many pictures. Think many, many, terabytes worth of pictures!
Ken served in many capacities in the church: nursery leader, primary teacher, ward clerk, executive secretary, stake high councilor, and other beloved callings. While serving as their high councilor, he especially loved getting to know the members of the Grove Creek 5th ward. Ken was currently serving as the ward mission leader. He loved missionary work. He would always say to those in ward council, or elsewhere, "While driving by, just step on the brake and go talk to them." Ken and Kristen had always planned to serve a mission together in their golden years.
Ken had been working for the past 14 years for TestOut Corporation in customer service and as an implementation manager. The last 3 years of his career were at CompTIA (who acquired TestOut), helping educators from high schools, trade schools, colleges and universities be able to teach IT to their students. He was known as the "Silver Tongue" at work because he was able to calm down any customer and help them. These were wonderful years since those he worked with were like family.
Vacations provided by the owner of TestOut created unforgettable memories like going to Disney World, a Disney cruise, seeing the Mediterranean Sea, Italy and Greece, and a trip to Thailand.
Ken was always ready to do the Lord's work. He would minister to "the one" in quiet ways. He was consistently there to help others move in or out, help clean up fallen trees, pump water out of a flooded basement, visit many in the hospital, give blessings, and serve in so many other ways. He always made sure that he carried consecrated oil with him just in case it was needed.
His attitude of "keep calm and carry on" showed his unwavering faith and strength through whatever challenges and opportunities life presented. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Ken passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the age of 58 (only 2 months away from being 59). He is survived by his wife Kristen; his children, Brandt, Brandee, and Brooke; his parents Robert and LuWana Clark; his sister, Carla Phelon (Dan), his brother David, and his sister Shaylene Carter (Dave).
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Grove Creek Second Ward, 475 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.

I had the privilege of knowing Ken through our time at TestOut. From the moment I met him, it was clear he was one of those genuinely good people who cared deeply about others and about the work he did.

Although we never worked in the same department, we collaborated often-he worked with schools to help them implement TestOut´s learning systems, while I was a course designer. I always appreciated his patience, professionalism, and kindness.

One of my fondest memories with Ken was our trip to Thailand-his good nature, warm smile, and sense of humor made the experience even more special.

I´m deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed by so many of us who had the privilege of working with him and calling him a friend. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

So many years have passed, and we lost touch along the way. I know you´re taking your mission to the next level, and pray that the Lord bless and keep your family. That He comforts them, and helps them remember the best times of your lives together.
