Kenneth E. Kraneman, 81, of Schaumburg, IL, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2025 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 09,1943 in Chicago, IL, Kenneth was the son of the late Ernest and Hazel Kraneman. Kenneth attended college at New Mexico State University and Iowa State University. He was a member of the Iowa State University's Men's Gymnastics Team and won the Big 8 Championship for Pommel Horse in 1965. Kenneth graduated and began a career as an Aeronautical Engineer, which he continued until retirement. He was an avid lover of nature, national parks and anything that had to do with airplanes. Kenneth enjoyed photography and could always be seen with his camera by his side.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Diane E. (Blackburn) Kraneman, children; Scott Kraneman, Douglas (Dawn) Kraneman, Kristin (Miro) Ivelic and Meghan (Mike Barthel) Kraneman, grandsons; Kyle, Nathan, Ethan, Gavin and Dylan; his sister Karen Craven and caring nephews and niece. He is preceded in death by his sister Cheri Kirby.
A visitation to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held on February, 27, 2025 at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ahlgrim & Sons, 330 West Golf Road, Schaumburg, IL 60195.
