Kenneth was born on September 15, 1962 in Bluefield, West Virginia and was the son of Rachel Mulkey of North Tazewell, Virginia and the late Kenneth J. Mulkey, Sr. He was a 1980 graduate of Tazewell High School and Appalachian State University. He was a retired Locomotive Engineer having worked for N & S Railroad for 32 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Thompson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by:
Loving wife, Sandra Mulkey of Tazewell, VA
Daughter, Nikki Allison and husband, Michael of Thompson Valley, VA.
Daughter-in-law, Angel Thompson of Gordonsville, VA.
Four Grandchildren he loved with all his heart:
Shayna Booth and husband, Mikey. Macy Thompson, Kendra Allison and Gabe Allison.
Brother, Michael Mulkey and wife, Regina of Springville, VA.
Visitation for Mr. Mulkey will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 6pm-8pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA.

Dear Rachel, We have just learned of Kenny's passing and just shocked! Our memories are long and sweet. He will always be one of "our" children and will be missed by all our family, including Kent. Love to you at this most difficult time. Jim, Joan, Jamey, and Kent

Very sorry to hear about Kenny what a great guy I really enjoyed working with him and talking saltwater fishing. Kenny was a great engineer who taught me a lot and for that I am truly grateful!
