Kenneth J. O’Malley passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024; he was 80. Ken was born in New Orleans on Oct. 11, 1944. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes, De La Salle High School, and Loyola University. He was employed in the sugar industry for 36-years at The Domino Sugar refinery in Chalmette, LA and at the Redpath Sugar Refinery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Richards O’Malley, Sr., Laura Roberta Hardin, and a sister Maureen Tobler (Henry-deceased). He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita (Ann) Correnti O’Malley, sons Ken (Chery) and John (Melissa), five grandchildren Patrick (Taylor), Nathan (Laura), Sarah (Rande), Matthew (Erica), Quinton, and four great-granddaughters, Nora, Lyla, Piper, and Eleanor. Also, one sister, Eileen and three brothers Charles (Linda-deceased), Michael (Janet), and Terry (Beverly-deceased). Ken was an avid motorcyclist having traveled over 840,000 miles throughout the US, including Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Latin and South America, Europe, and Africa plus two trips to the Isle of Man TT Races, often with his best friend, Rita, accompanying him. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Dr. in Covington, on Wednesday November 20th at 9:30 AM. Mass starts at 11:30 AM. The interment will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery in St. Benedict, LA.
