Kenneth DeWayne “Kenny” Pickett, 66 years old, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2025.
Kenny was born on June 12th, 1958, in Memphis, TN, to Otha Pickett and Aslean McMillian.
Kenny graduated from East High School in Cleveland, OH in 1976. He then proudly served in the United States Air Force until 1990. He later worked as a postal carrier for the USPS until his retirement in 2012.
Together for 48 years, Kenny married his high school sweetheart, Paula, in April 1977. They had two children, Marquisha and Alexandria.
Kenny will always be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. He had an amazing way of connecting with people, always willing to lend a hand or offer his wisdom.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Paula Pickett; his daughter, Alexandria Pickett; his grandchildren Damia and Kiara Mills; his sister, Patricia Cungtion; his brother, Patrick McMillion; and his mother-in-law, Ida Stephens.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marquisha Pickett; his father, Otha Pickett; and his mother Aslean McMillian.
A visitation in honor of Kenneth will be held on June 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. After the service, burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
