It was my pleasure to know Ken from the car cruises here in Central Kentucky. I always enjoyed visiting with him, Rocky and Stephen. My condolences to the family.

Ken was the type of neighbor that everyone would want to have. He was always willing to help, was never in a bad mood, and never mentioned it when I waited an extra week before I mowed my lawn (he kept his lawn pristine and mowed every week). He had a simple wisdom, one that can only be found through a long life of experience, that he conveyed through stories that were certain to make you laugh. It seemed like he had a funny story for every situation or topic and he couldn't help brag about his kids and grandkids whom he loved dearly. He will be missed.

Ken and I met in the early 60's at, of all places, Gardenside Texaco. We became friends, practically brothers, and drove around town, went drag racing, and generally enjoyed life during the time. Eventually, Ken joined the National Guard and I went into the Air Force. We kept in touch during and after the service and got together whenever we could to go to car shows or just meet for doughnuts and coffee with our friend Rocco at Doughnut Days on Southland Drive.
